Meet the Scholars - Kelsey Hurt

We are excited to begin introducing our current scholars! We will begin with our 3rd year scholars…

Hello, my name is Kelsey Hurt, and I am a third-year physical therapy student! I chose physical therapy because I have a passion for joining people on their healing journey and be a support system as they work to recovery. Physical therapy is not just helping patient regain strength and mobility but also building confidence in themselves to return to activities they once did. Being part of their story and seeing their determination to achieve their goals is what drives me in this field.

My areas of interest include working with the neuro adult population which includes post-stroke, spinal cord and brain injuries. This also includes those who were diagnosed with Parkinson’s, ALS, MS, etc. I also am interested in oncology as well. I am looking forward to continue learning about these populations through my clinical experiences.

The Impact Fund has continually been impactful in my physical therapy journey. It has allowed me to focus more on my education and clinical experience while easing some of the financial burden of a graduate program. It has also given me the opportunity to connect with other students of diverse backgrounds to come together to support each other on our physical therapy journeys.

Fun facts: I can read about 3 books at a time from different media formats and enjoy doing embroidery projects!
