Alaina Omonode
Class of 2027
I’ve always been drawn to a career in healthcare, and as a lifelong athlete, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the impact of movement on a person’s health. When I first learned about physical therapy, it immediately felt like the right path for me. This profession allows me to combine my passion for movement with my strong desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. My time in the classroom and in different clinical settings has deepened my appreciation for all the ways we can impact our patients’ lives. I hope to one day go into pediatric or neurologic physical therapy!
Receiving the imPacT FUND scholarship has provided me with both the opportunity and support necessary to continue pursuing my goal of becoming a physical therapist. Through outreach alongside fellow recipients, I have had the opportunity to speak with students ranging from the 4th grade through the undergraduate level about physical therapy. It has been amazing to interact with so many different individuals at different educational stages. I am incredibly grateful to be part of an initiative that is working to increase diversity and inclusion within the field of physical therapy. I hope to continue building ties in the community and working with other professionals.
